Head Procurement and Commercial asset Management
Mr. De Groof currently heads procurement as well as the commercial asset management of Engie’s European assets, with an installed capacity of ca. 3GW. He is based in Paris and joined Engie in 2010 having worked on different finance positions, conventional power and renewables projects in Brussels and Berlin. Prior thereto, Mr. De Groof was assistant at the faculty at the University of Antwerp working on corporate finance, cost - and management accounting topics. He graduated MSc at the University of Antwerp with a thesis on energy market design and a major in finance, afterwards pursuing an MArts in econometrics at the University of Leuven.
Ewen is a mechanical engineer and has worked in the wind industry for 19 years. Previously he spent 10 years in the gas turbine and oil and gas industries. He has worked for Engie for 7 years mainly on the construction of the UK onshore wind portfolio and asset management of these wind farms. He specialises in turbine inspections, developing the technical aspects of turbine and maintenance contracts and technical due diligence. Ewen previously worked for Garrad Hassan and Partners, Natural Power and SSE plc.
Head - Wind Operations (Onshore Europe)
Currently responsible for a department of roughly 60 FTE's in four countries, overlooking our onshore wind portfolio in Norther Europer Europe. P&L responsibility with a cost budget of roughly 40 M€ and a revenue stream of more than 100 M€. During his career at E.ON he has been working as Operations Manager, as HR business partner and as a specialist in performance management (process and behoaviour), project management and cultural change. Before that Roland worked as a management consultant with process reengineering and process development.
Director Business Excellence & Asset Management Onshore Wind
Anna Jasper-Martens has been working in the energy industry since 1999.
She joined Vattenfall in 2009 and developed and managed Sustainable Cities, Smart Home and Digital Power products for the Vattenfall Sales organisation.
In 2016 she moved to Vattenfall Wind and is the Director Business Excellence & Asset Management Onshore since 2017. The focus of her work lies in the continuous improvement and digitalisation of processes and ways of working in Onshore and the optimisation of the performance of Vattenfalls´s Onshore fleet of about 1.2 GW installed capacity today across Sweden, Denmark, UK, Netherlands and Germany - preparing Onshore for future growth. Vattenfall Wind´s ambition is to increase the installed renewables production capacity until 2025 to 11GW. This is an important building block for Vattenfall's strategy to be fossil-free within one generation.

Jaap Kleerebezem, O&M director at Vattenfall Onshore Wind since 2016, focusing on transforming Vattenfall’s O&M into a data driven top performer to enable Vattenfall’s growth ambitions.
Prior to this position I have been senior management positions in Vattenfall Heat (generation and asset projects) and Customers and Solutions. Before that 15 years in telecommunications.
Tim Rubert joined EnBW AG as a project engineer in 2018 and is currently working on the Offshore Wind Projects Hohe See and Albatross. He completed his PhD at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Wind and Marine Energy Systems at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. His research is in fibre optic sensing, the economics of wind energy, and lifetime extension decision-making. Tim is currently supporting the IEC 64100-28 "through life management and life extension of wind farms" project team within the CMS working group.
Production Optimization Manager
Giacomo has an engineering background and started as wind analyst at ERG managing the most important M&A operations that led ERG as the first wind operator in Italy and in the top ten in Europe; following the internalization of maintenance services on ERG fleet in Italy he moves towards the management of operational process with particular focus on predictive maintenance. In our department we are monitoring more than 240 WTGs with online CMS in order to assess drive train conditions and we are constantly looking for new solutions that help us to increase the availability and/or production of our wind turbines portfolio.
Production Optimization Manager
Davide has a mechanical and energetic engineering background and started as vibration analyst at ERG in order to manage the CMSs installed on 159 MW WTGs and it was the first ERG’s approach to predictive maintenance on Vestas MW Italian fleet; following the internalization of maintenance services on ERG fleet in Italy he moves towards the management of operational process reaching in 2017 a total approach to Condition Based Maintenance. Now in our department We are in charge more than 240 CMSs covering all the internalized MW wind factories around Europe in order to assess drive train conditions and we are constantly looking for new solutions that help us to increase the availability and/or production of our wind turbines portfolio.
Head of Wind Competence Center
Antonio Moset Hernandez graduated in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de of Valencia (Spain). He joined Endesa Group in 2001 as Plant Manager of the Power House in Ford Motor Company facilities where Endesa had a 15yr PPA with Ford. From 2003, he also managed other power plants, a cross-technology portfolio including cogeneration, biomass and wind assets. In 2009, Antonio assumed the responsibility of managing major-corrective activities and spare parts supply for the entire Spanish wind fleet. After one year, he returned to biomass projects as Head of O&M for Biomass and Cogeneration assets in Spain. Finally, from 2014 he is part of the O&M Central team, as Head of Management Support in the Wind Competence Center, and as Head of the Wind Competence Center during the last year.
Rudi has 8 years of experience in the Onshore Wind business at Innogy Renewables, holding a number of positions in the Operations and Commercial Asset Management departments. Prior to joining Innogy, Rudi worked for the space and satellite arm of Airbus and also worked overseas in Japan.
In Rudi’s current Innogy role of Fleet Manager, he is responsible for portfolio optimisation initiatives and negotiating key agreements and contractual solutions to technical fleet issues across Innogy’s global operational fleet with a capacity of 2.3 GW.
Over the past six months, Rudi has led a cross-department team in project managing Innogy’s global onshore wind Portfolio Optimisation project. Covering all operational onshore assets, the project was particularly focused on evaluating the operational fit, life extension, repowering and decommissioning options for assets approaching the end of their design lives and subsidies.
In Rudi’s previous role as Commercial Asset Manager, he was responsible for the commercial asset management and investment optimisation of Innogy and joint venture UK wind farm portfolios. The role involved performing and delivering financial and commercial analysis to facilitate board decisions on optimum life extension and replant strategies for older portfolio assets, which included some of the UK’s oldest operational wind farms.
Procurement and Commercial Manager
Alden has been working in the wind industry for the last 10 years. Having joined Ventient as the Procurement and Commercial Manager , he leads the tender exercise and negotiations for all key contracts, particularly turbine O&M service contracts and PPA's helping to secure the best commercial value for Ventient. From an O&M perspective he engages with the wider supply chain, including OEM's and independent service providers to deliver operational and performance related improvements for the Ventient portfolio. Prior to Ventient, he worked at RES in various positions covering wind and site, turbine engineering and commercial asset management. He has a Master's Degree in Renewable Energy from Loughborough University and is working towards an MBA from Warwick Business School.

Karen Anne Hutton is Head of Innovation and Optimisation at leading renewable energy company RES. She is responsible for transforming ideas and innovations into commercial service offerings which deliver OPEX savings and asset value improvements for RES’ clients. Karen Anne joined RES in 2001 and has worked in a number of areas across the business including data analysis and continuous improvement.

Marc Holtz is RES France Head of Technical Asset Management at RES since 2015.
He joined RES as “operation and maintenance engineer”, and then developed the French team in charge of the plant optimization. He is today managing the French Asset Technical Management team, in charge of more than 600 MW of wind and solar assets in France. Marc has a master in industrial engineering with a strong specialization in maintenance management, and has previously worked at Ponticelli Frères where he was maintenance engineer.

An experienced Service engineer having been originally mechanically trained, I’ve worked for the past 30 years in service and maintenance. Initially this was in the manufacturing sector where I was involved in high speed automation, pneumatics, high pressure steam and general conveyor systems.
I joined the wind sector over 16 years ago with an established ISP as a service engineer and soon grew into management functions becoming O&M manager approx. 12 years ago where I had responsibility for 350MW for various different owners and various different turbine types. This was a challenging role but the experiences from the manufacturing works lent itself to me implementing efficiencies and improvement to service.
I joined RES Ltd as Head of O&M in January 18 to lead the development of this service within the organisation. This we are doing by delivering Major component exchanges and other maintenance activities including Full O&M Delivery.

David Delaire is Managing Director, at MPC Renewable Energies. He manages with a focus on supporting M&A activities and leading asset-related activities upon acquisition/financial close. Jan Dörr is working for GE Renewable Energy (Onshore Wind) as Wind Services EMEA Product Line Leader since February 2019 and one of his major focus is to enable wind turbines a second spring. In his new role he is mainly responsible for the identification and development of smart Service Product solutions for GE`s customers. Starting his career in the wind industry back in 2012 he worked in various engineering functions across the life time of wind turbine projects. On his way to todays role he executed for example micro-sitings, wind studies as well as technical due diligence studies for global wind farm projects. When he joined GE in 2016 he was responsible for the technical scope of new wind farm projects in Germany. Within his former role from 2017-2019 in the GE Service Engineering team he paved the way to implement attractive O&M concepts for the additional life of wind turbines. Zabihullah Alefi (age 38) leads Gram & Juhl’s Condition Monitoring Division in Germany. He has over 10 years of experience in the field of condition monitoring specializing in wind turbine generation. He has impressive experience in both data analysis and practical field assignments. Zabihullah is a certified CAT III Vibration Analyst.
His technical acuity combined with his excellent communication skills make him an asset when assisting with sales-related processes. He is involved in Gram & Juhl’s software development where he uses his monitoring background to influence essential advances in development. Zabihullah hails from Germany where he has also been responsible for developing wind energy projects. Dr. Mahmoud Hamada is an energy trading expert with 18 years of consulting, quantitative analysis and structuring experience in Europe and Asia-Pacific. He held the positions of head of the quantitative analysis department at RWE supply and Trading and executive director at Ernst and Young in Geneva, Switzerland. He is currently the CEO of SAMAWATT, a Swiss-based technology firm helping wind and solar operators extract higher value from renewable assets using predictive analytics and real-time power trading.

Evgenia has over 14 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary analytical groups within the electro mechanical R&D sector. She has spent the past 9 years in the wind energy sector, developing prognostic life models for drive train components, O&M cost and optimisation models. Dr Golysheva has led a wide range of engineering consultancy projects, delivering engineering and technical due diligence services to major wind farm operators and turbine manufacturers including failure diagnostics, root cause analysis and independent OPEX forecasts. David Futter has been working in the energy industry since 1989, specialising in Condition Monitoring. He is now Product Manager for Bachmann Monitoring GmbH in Germany. He studied Physics at the University of Bristol, graduating in 1989. He then spent 28 years at Ratcliffe Technology Centre, UK, for CEGB, PowerGen, E.ON and Uniper. In the early 1990s he was part of the team that pioneered remote vibration monitoring services for thermal plant and developed some advanced signal pro-cessing techniques for gearboxes. More recently he was involved with parameter monitoring based on big data techniques, which was applied to the E.ON fleet between 2012 and 2014 and is now an integral part of Uniper’s maintenance strategy. For the last 15 years he has been applying similar techniques to wind turbines. This has included creating methods for optimising monitoring efficiency and developing new methods for incorporating process data into condition monitoring, eg for ice de-tection.
As Product Manager for Bachmann his role includes optimising the product range to support advanced monitoring services. He sits on the BINDT Vibration Analysis expert panel, and BSI/ISO committees for Vibration and Condition Monitoring. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.

Before starting in the renewables business in 2004, Kristian worked in several roles connected to start-up initiatives within engineering, medical equipment and electronics.
Kristian has been working in the renewables business since 2004 in different roles within the industry. Working for companies like ScanWind, GE and Kongsberg Group, he has had several positions covering turbine design, manufacturing, operations and maintenance. In his last position, Kristian is heading the Renewables business at Kongsberg, focusing on digitalization of the renewables business and how this will affect the business going forward.

Carlos Silva is a Mechanic Electrical Engineer with a master’s degree in Wind Energy. He started working at NEM Solutions in 2016, both, developing his master thesis about Offshore wind CBM Solutions, and as part of the turbines Diagnostic team service.
In 2017 he became a Project Manager for major utilities, supporting the implementation of Cloud Based Real-Time Diagnostics Solution for clients with +3GW wind capacity, increasing their wind turbines machine failures detectability by 56%.
Since April 2018, he became part of the Energy Sales Team in order to support clients with the implementation of Wind Predictive Analytics inside their O&M processes.

Christian Winkenjohann has worked in the wind industry for almost 10 years and has great experience in operations and business economics. He joined Deutsche Windtechnik in 2017 as International Business Development Manager, mainly responsible for the Spanish market. Before joining Deutsche Windtechnik Christian held different positions such as project manager, product surveillance engineer and service engineer. He graduated BEng in renewable energy technology and MBA in general management.

Dr Mahmood Shafiee is the Director of MSc Programme in “Renewable Energy” and Associate Professor in “Risk and Reliability Engineering” at the Department of Energy and Power at Cranfield University. He has more than fifteen years’ experience of research and consultancy in the fields of Smart Maintenance, Asset Reliability, Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), Risk Analysis, Life Prediction & Extension; Predictive Maintenance; and Uncertainty Quantification, within a range of industry sectors including Oil and Gas and Offshore Renewables (Wind, Wave, Tidal). He has managed and led several international research projects (funded by EPSRC, InnovateUK, EU, Carbon Trust and Wind Energy SMEs) about Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) of Renewable Energy Systems, form which he has published more than 100 scientific papers in top-ranking journals and major conference proceedings as well as developed a couple of patents. He sits as the Chair of Energy Committee at the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA) and also is a Committee Member of the Upstream Oil and Gas Committee at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
James is the Chief Executive of Renewable Parts Ltd., a Glasgow based SME specialising in supply chain and inventory management for the wind industry.
James has led RPL since 2015, developing a growth strategy centred on innovation to simplify supply chain management, increase turbine availability
and reduce life cycle cost reduction. Over the last 3 years RPL has quadrupled in size to become the UK’s largest independent supply chain specialist.
James is a skilled business leader with a proven track record of delivering multibillion dollar global contracts across overseas markets. Advancing through several senior leadership roles within Rolls Royce, he has 18 years’ experience running Operations, Sales, Aftermarket, and Marketing businesses. He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
James is a keen hill walker and novice in fly fishing. He lives in Glasgow with his wife Coretta and son Gabriel.
Underwriter Green Tech Solutions
Tobias Aigner received his engineering degree in automotive engineering from the University in Munich. From 2005 he was working as a project engineer in the automotive industry. In 2008, he received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University Hagen. In 2013 he received his Ph.D. degree at the Department of Electric Power Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Afterwards he was working as a project manager at the Norwegian Centre for Offshore Wind Technology followed by a position as strategy consultant in the energy sector. In May 2016 he joined Munich Re as underwriter at Green Tech Solutions.
Ronny has worked in the wind industry for 10 years. Before his current position at Munich RE he was Project Manager for Offshore Wind projects at Siemens Wind Power A/S in Denmark and there involved in a realized capacity of 1.5 GW. Prior to this he worked in different positions for one of Germany´s largest project developers in the field of renewable energy. Ronny has a Master Degree in Sustainable Energy Management and Planning from the Aalborg University, Denmark, and a Bachelor in Energy Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences of Leipzig, Germany.
Guy is the CEO of Greensolver, an independent asset management company he founded back in 2008 when part of the Eolfi Group.
He bought Greensolver with JOHES SA Company in 2013.
Prior to joining pioneering renewable energy firm Eolfi as Deputy General Manager in 2008, Guy held CFO and CEO roles at a number of international firms in Europe. Guy is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and graduated from McGill and Stanford (executive education).
Neil joined the management team of BVG Associates as a Director in the spring of 2017 and heads up our business activities in relation to providing strategic advice to wind farm owners and technology providers.
He has 24 years of experience in the wind energy industry, with specific expertise in the operational management of wind energy projects, including performance engineering, technical due diligence and risk analysis for onshore and offshore wind farms. He also has extensive knowledge of wind lidar, wind resource analysis and mitigating complex wind flow issues.
Neil joined BVG Associates after two decades with Natural Power and holds a Masters in Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde.
Energy Industries Council (EIC)
Stuart is Chief Executive of the EIC, the Energy Industries Council. Prior to joining EIC in 2016, Stuart enjoyed a successful 25-year career leading global O&M businesses in oil & gas, power and renewables, with Rolls-Royce, Wood, Senvion and Hoerbiger. Stuart also has various non-executive director roles including with the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in UK and the Nuclear Innovation & Research Advisory Board.
