Facilitating supply chain deals in US offshore wind

SCAP is one of four core elements of USOW20. 1. Supply Chain Accelerator Program; 2. Supply Chain Exhibition (100+ exhibits); 3. 3 track Conference; 4. Workshops focussing on specific industry problems; all 4 pointing into the middle: 5th Annual US Offshore Wind 2020 Event. June 18-19 Boston

The first U.S. Offshore Wind Supply Chain Accelerator Program (SCAP) is an initiative that helps developers meet state-specific local content supply chain requirements by pairing them up with local service providers and suppliers.

The Supply Chain Accelerator Program will result in a series of intensive supply chain matchmaking workshops that will take place at the 5th annual US Offshore Wind 2020 (USOW20) event.

U.S. Offshore Wind 2020 is an international B2B event that attracts 2000 local, national and international offshore professionals who are involved or transitioning into the U.S. offshore wind industry, making it the ideal time and place to host supply chain accelerator activities. USOW20 is the largest offshore wind event which brings in decision makers from every major developer, investor, EPCI contractor, supplier, manufacturer, and key stakeholder. In addition to the SCAP, there will be a multitude of things to explore, such as networking events, conference streams and 100+ exhibitors.

Local content requirements presented; to targeted company types; with relevant matchmaking; results in (emphasised) signed supply chain contracts.

  1. Before the event, New Energy Update will gather information from active project developers degrading their local supply chain needs.
  2. Working with our sponsors and partners, New Energy Update will invite relevant companies to attend the SCAP workshops and matchmaking sessions on June 18-19 at the USOW20 event.
  3. Over the course of 2 days, active buyers (project developers, tier 1 contractors, and manufacturers) and prospective vendors (tier 2 and 3 suppliers and service providers), will attend our state-by-state organized workshops.
  4. The active buyers will present their local content requirements to the select, pre-qualified audience of vendors.
  5. State representatives and SCAP partners can present state specific tax incentives for supply chain investments.
  6. The presentations are proceeded by a matchmaking session allowing prospective vendors to give a one-to-one pitch to the buyer.
  7. Successful vendors will secure supply chain partners.

The workshops will be divided by U.S. state clusters, encouraging state-driven local content.
