The 2017 MENA New Energy Awards (formerly MENASol and MENAWind Awards)

The MENA New Energy Awards are the most prestigious and anticipated awards in the Middle East and North Africa’s booming renewable energy industry. The glamorous ceremony aims to gather the leading minds of the renewable energy industry to highlight progression, innovation and quality.

With various categories designed to highlight established and emerging companies, the MENA New Energy Awards attract over 400 nominations from all over the world. These awards recognize the leaders pushing the industry forward through innovation, industry engagement and quality products and services.

This will include an evening of keynote speeches, including Michelle Davies - who will highlight the discussions of the ‘Women in New Energy Workshop’

  • These were the MENASOL Awards Finalists for 2016:
    Government Renewable Energy Programme 2016

    This award will reward a government body responsible for the promotion and implementation of renewable energy programmes in the MENA region. The judges will be looking for details on procurement programme timelines, percentage of the energy mix given to renewables and investment taken to support the renewable energy industry.

    Solar Project Finance / Advisors 2016

    This award is for the finance & advisory company that has done the most to prepare successful solar project finance throughout the last year. The judges will be looking for details on finance structure, risk mitigation and debt equity of the finance project.

    PV Developer 2016

    This award is open to PV developers who feel that their role has made a remarkable difference to expanding the PV pipeline in MENA. The judges will be looking for details on project development, meeting procurement deadlines and proposal of competitive tariff rates.

    PV Technology Innovation for MENA 2016

    This award seeks out a PV technology or component supplier who has made an important difference to the PV industry in MENA. Commercialization and application in real projects will be taken into consideration.

    This award will go to solar companies who feel that their role has made an important difference in local MENA communities in a meaningful, measurable way.
